Bimba Capoeira

With the development of civilization, Capoeira began to come out of the jungle in the city. But, for example, Capoeira in Rio differed from Capoeira in Sao Paulo, which is associated with an ethnic population of these districts and cities. At that time, Capoeira has been brutal and ruthless, and served for the murder or mutilation, carnage among different gangs. Gangs in those days possessed great force and kept at bay most of the civilian population. Lack of firearms deaths compensate members of the groups ability to fight on the knives or machetes. Sharpened blades are often pinched between the fingers and toes, which made it faster, stronger fighter yet more dangerous.

The founder of Capoeira as a martial art is Mestre Bimba (Manuel dos Reis Machado). Manuel dos Reis Machado (Bimba) was born in 1900 in Salvador, Bahia (Brazil). 'The main thing is not how you hold your chin, and what is inside of you. Something that allows you to explode the energy at the right time and right place '- this young Bimba taught his first teacher – Benthin. And Bimbo on perfectly learned the lessons that he taught in his childhood, his first teacher. In 1936 the newspaper 'A Tarde' published an article which explains how to Bimba, Capoeira was able to use technology to protect against some unscrupulous police officials.

Today capoeiristas apply almost all the technical elements that contributed to the Bimba Capoeira. Mestre Bimba thoroughly developed techniques of kicks and hands, falling techniques and rotations, non-contact avoiding punches and much more. Bimba put Capoeira basis, for what it considered to be the founder of the Capoeira, which exists today. With the world and the spiritual progress of humanity, in most cases there is no need to kill the enemy, but the need to defend himself was and remains forever. Today Capoeira as well as all recognized martial arts fosters spirituality, harmony in the soul, the harmony in the body, strength, confidence and right attitude towards your opponent. Here are the basic rules of Capoeira: A Capoeira you do not try to beat your opponent. Another – not your enemy, he – your friend, and both of you try to save the game (joga – a game in a circle, sparring), its rhythm and beauty. Carefully reread the previous sentence, please. No active blocking in capoeira, instead try to be evasive. When the tempo increases, create some distance between yourself and your companion. Be unpredictable. It may sound trite, but as Malandragem (bad joke) is widely accepted and welcomed among Capoeiristas, you can easily get a treacherous blow at some serious areas of your body. Be creative, listen to music, keep the rhythm. Good luck to you Muita axe, Amigos
